FAQs

  • This is totally up to you! We generally recommend making some playlists for us prior to the date so that we have time to track down your favourite songs and have them organised and ready to go. Some clients give very detailed instructions and like us to stick very closely to their playlists whereas others are happy to give us a general idea and let the DJ do their thing. You’re in control as much or as little as you’d like.

Check out the link below for more detailed instructions.

  • We get loads of enquiries everyday so we unfortunately can't correspond with and seek availability from all of our artists for each enquiry.  We usually suggest a few act that we think might work and then once a booking fee has been paid we get right on the job of seeing who is available and presenting our couples with some options to choose from.  All of our artists are truly top notch so our couples are usually a bit spoiled for choice.  If there are any in particular that you like the look of and are considering booking we can check to make sure they're available before we lock them in.

  • We aim to be set up and ready to go at least one hour prior to the booking start time.

  • No. Set up and pack down are outside of your booking time so you don’t pay for us to be lugging equipment and setting it up. We aim to be set up and ready to go one hour prior to the booking start time and we start packing up & loading out after your booking time is completed.

  • Payments can be made by logging into our site with the details you’ll receive via email. This the best payment option as you can make as many payments as you like and keep track of your outstanding balance through there as the system will automatically update things on our end. However it’s totally fine if you prefer a direct deposit instead - just let us know and we’ll send you an invoice with bank details included.

  • Yes! We offer some of the finest violinists, violists and cellists in the country. These can be booked in a variety of configurations from solo instrumentalist through to a large string ensemble.

  • We’re totally happy to MC your event if you’d like us to!  Let us know and we can add the additional MC fee onto your quote.

  • We'll need a good clear run sheet that indicates exactly what moments need to be announced and who needs to be introduced, including times.

As long as the run sheet clearly states "MC to announce/introduce" (or something similar) whenever we are needed, then it should be easy for us to follow.

If anyone happens to have a name that might potentially be mispronounced, it'd be great if you could clarify this as well ("rhymes with ......").

  • We generally do request that a meal is supplied and it's greatly appreciated if possible.  Of course if its cutting the budget a bit too fine thats ok, just let us know in advance so that we can arrange something else.

  • For a DJ we need about 2m x 2m to cover the DJ equipment, lights and PA Speakers. A band depends on the line up but a two peice band needs about the same as a DJ and more space is needed for larger groups. We are good at keeping our set up as neat and compact as possible though!

  • We generally find that a meeting isn't particularly necessary as we can figure out everything really well via the client portal and calls/emails.  Some couples do prefer a meeting, but we generally find that theres not heaps to talk about as we primarily use the information from the client portal in the long run anyway.

The client portal is an invaluable management tool for us to organise things, track down playlists and make sure we have all of the special songs ready to go. As long you fill in as much information as you feel is necessary, we're pretty good at filling in the gaps and making sure everything is perfectly ready to go on the day!

However if you do think an in person meeting is important we should be able to find a mutually convenient time, just say the word!

  • Theres actually a feature on our website for this but we don't usually encourage it as things can become a bit crazy when every single guest is wanting their special song played all at the same time.  Often the bride or groom come up to the DJ booth wondering why such a strange mixed bag of music is being played!   Also keep in mind that you’ll need to reduce your own list quite a bit to fit in everyone else's special songs.

But if you're up for the lucky-dip dance floor experience that this provides, then we're totally happy to work with that.  Let us know and we’ll send you special login details that you can forward to your guests so they'll be able make one song request each.

  • Unfortunately most venues we work at have pretty firm music cut off times and volume limits which we have to adhere to. But we always manage to get a great party going even while sticking to the venue rules!

  • Great! We just need a booking deposit which can be paid via the login details provided and we can then lock in the date! The booking deposit amount is then subtracted from the total owed and we’ll send you a confirmation email.

  • We generally ask that our account is settled at least 48 hours prior to the booking date.

  • Our DJs & musos are all seasoned professionals and will try to be as discreet and as quiet as possible when loading in and setting up.

  • We’ll take care of everything! If you have any questions or queries, get in touch with us and we’ll communicate this with your performers. We also make sure your performers have a clear run sheet to follow which includes any special songs or other important moments so that you’re always on the same page!
